UMMOA® is a registered trademark of Cesidio Tallini

Unlike the Principality of Sealand, the United Micronations Multi-Oceanic Archipelago (UMMOA) doesn't have even a small reinforced concrete island on which to exercise its sovereignty, but it does have its own town, the Fifth World Community (5WC), registered with Google as a "City Hall", and the town even controls a special domain in!

Unlike the Sovereign Military Hospitaller Order of Saint John of Jerusalem of Rhodes and of Malta, also known as the Sovereign Military Order of Malta (SMOM), the Order of Malta, or the Knights of Malta, the UMMOA doesn't have diplomatic relations with de jure states like Italy, but it does have diplomatic relations with de facto states like Cabinda!

Unlike the Sovereign Military Order of Malta (SMOM), the UMMOA is not widely considered as a sovereign subject of international law, but it has been treated like any other non-sovereign subject of international law by the International Criminal Court (ICC) in the past!

Unlike the Sovereign Military Order of Malta (SMOM), the UMMOA doesn't enjoy enough international recognition to be able to control its own .int domain name, as the SMOM does control a special domain at, but the UMMOA does control!

Recently, the UMMOA has acquired another characteristic of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta (SMOM).

On 27 December 2013, the UMMOA Trademark, Serial Number 86153190, was filed with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). Well, on 26 August 2014, the UMMOA Trademark became the UMMOA Registered Trademark 4592162!

The Sovereign Military Order of Malta (SMOM) has preceded the UMMOA with the registration of several USPTO trademarks: However, the UMMOA registered trademark is a collective membership mark, not a service mark, as all the SMOM marks above.

It should also be noted that the SMOM does have a registered collective membership mark like the UMMOA, but not as an abbreviation, and the Owner of the mark is not the "Other" legal entity type, as with all the other SMOM marks above, or the organisation headquartered in Via Condotti 68 in Rome (Italy), but a separate "Corporate" legal entity type, based in Somerset, New Jersey: The UMMOA is thus the only other subject of international law, besides the SMOM, with a USPTO-registered collective membership mark, and the only registered collective membership mark indicating "membership in a political organization concerned with international affairs".

The SMOM's registered collective membership mark indicates only "membership in the organization", ie membership in the "Sovereign Order of Saint John of Jerusalem Knights of Malta", and its nature is not specified as political or international.

The UMMOA's USPTO-registered collective membership mark is also important for another reason. While the Transnational Radical Party (Italian: Partito Radicale Transnazionale) is also a recognised international political party, and even enjoys consultative status with the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) of the United Nations, the UMMOA also enjoys consultative status with a young IGO, the Organization of Emerging African States (OEAS), but the Transnational Radical Party does not have even a single registered trademark with the USPTO, unlike the UMMOA!
